The ‘Pulse of the City’ may be thought of as the sum of its mobile bodies and static structures in a dynamic urban-ecology of movement. PULSE seeks to reveal new relationships between the body and architecture, by reframing the city rooftop as a neglected plateau, a second-street where new forms may emerge in the urban landscape, an intensive plateau where the figurative givens of ‘down below’ are elevated and transformed through multimedia mutations of sound, image and flesh.
Bringing together a range of practitioners from different disciplines, PULSE will imagine a diverse series of propositions for how this new landscape might look, sound and feel. These propositions will examine the specific qualities of the rooftop site, its re-imagining as a ‘second street’, and how the project may be situated in relation to the wider urban fabric.
When: Friday 11th 9pm & Saturday 12th 9pm
