Amelia Johannes

Amelia Johannes uses video and sound as investigated methods into exploring her cultural identity as a migrant and biological identity as a twin. Elements of family, culture, tradition and memory are used as materials to generate artworks that aesthetically experiment with the viewer’s visual experience. The construction of the self is a predominant concept explored in her art practice. She completed a Bachelor of Fine Art (Sculpture and Spatial Practice) with First Class Honours at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2008. She is currently undertaking a Masters of Fine Art (by research) at the Victorian College of the Arts.
