Hamish Carr

Hamish Carr has been working and exhibiting in Melbourne for the last eight years. Receiving the National Gallery Women’s Association Postgraduate Encouragement Award in 2007, short-listed for the R & M McGivern art prize in 2006 and the Fletcher Jones Art Prize in 2004 and 2008 his work is attracting attention. Due to graduate with an MFA from the VCA at the end of 2009 his work is developing an innovative and relevant response to the constructs of current culture. Working pre-dominantly in painting and drawing his work encapsulates a contemporary representation of the landscape.
